Thank
you!
On
Tuesday, May 7, I hosted a Town Hall on the impacts of the
Provincial Cuts to Toronto Public Health. Thank you to everyone who
came out! Mayor John Tory, Chair of the
Board of Health Joe Cressy and Councillor Josh Matlow were all in
attendance and spoke passionately about the massive Provincial
Cuts ✂️ to
Toronto Public Health. Medical Officer of Health, Dr.
Eileen de Villa, also presented an in-depth
look about how these Provincial Cuts will damage so many vital
programs for years to come.
We had a fantastic turnout of concerned residents
who asked necessary and thoughtful questions. Many of you
were eager to learn of ways you could continue to push back and
ensure your voice was heard.
- Visit https://www.progresstoronto.ca/ to sign their petition
and learn about other ways you can get involved
- Please write and call to your
local MPP, urge them to speak to the Minister of Health and
request that funding be restored to these most vital public
health services
- Tell your families, neighbours
and friends about the importance of standing up and
speaking out against these cuts. Get them involved because the
more people speaking out, the more effective we will be
- Bring the issue to any
community groups in your area. Resident associations, church
groups, social groups, etc. can all be strong advocates and
offer an organizational opportunity to spread this important
message
