On Tuesday, February 6, City Council will be approving recommendations for the Noise Bylaw Review (Item EC9.5).

REVIEW THE EC9.5 AMENDMENTS

The Toronto Noise Coalition has completed a detailed review of the EC9.5 amendments, but much more needs to be done.  They  have prepared a letter that describes additional recommendations. The recommendations are grouped under the following headings.

  • IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY OF NOISE BY LAW REGULATIONS 
  • MAKE USE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES 
  • MAKE MORE EFFECTIVE USE OF OTHER CITY RESOURCES
  • CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT 
  • CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN ENFORCEMENT
  • ONGOING CONSULTATION WITH STAKEHOLDERS

WRITE A LETTER

Concerned residents can join the letter writing campaign:

  • Send a letter of support for the recommendations in EC9.5 as amended, but consider adding your own recommendations to [email protected] by Sunday, February 4.  
  • Feel free to include some or all of the recommendations in your letter.
